Through the Woods Therapy Center employs licensed therapists and pre-licensed therapy associates who are excited about the prospect of working in a social justice-oriented private practice.  Even if we are not hiring at this time, we are always accepting resumes.

All of our therapists are passionate clinicians who bring a great deal of enthusiasm to the work.  We provide a setting for therapists who want to work in a private practice without taking on the role of a business owner.  Responsibilities include providing psychotherapy services to individuals and couples, documenting services in progress notes, and attending weekly team meetings.

About Us

Through the Woods Therapy Center is a strength-based, diversity-affirming, person-centered therapy group. We are committed to providing high-quality services that are grounded in feminism (which is to say, the way societally-imposed gender roles impact people of all genders), multicultural competence, and affirming gender, sexual, and relationship minorities. We recognize the difficulties that society imposes on members of marginalized populations, acknowledge oppression and microaggressions, and validate the existence of these challenges while helping clients to manage stressors.

Because of our diversity-affirming mission statement, we attract a lot of clients who live nontraditional lives, including members of the kink community, people in polyamorous relationships, sexual and gender minorities (including gay and lesbian, but also bisexual, transgender, gender nonconforming, intersex, and asexual folks), and members of “geek” and fandom communities. Our therapists value and affirm these traits and lifestyles. Our driving principle is that if you’re not harming anyone and you feel good inside, you’re probably doing okay.

Our Ideal Candidate

All of our therapists are strength-based and believe that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of change through psychotherapy. We are also all diversity-affirming, including being well-versed in working with the entire spectrum of gender, sexual, and relationship minorities. All candidates must demonstrate congruence with these values and proficiency in serving these demographics.

We will consider any candidate who meets the above criteria, but an ideal candidate will also bring to the table an area of specialization that is not currently offered. While our therapists work with a variety of issues, including many of the below listed, we are particularly seeking expertise in the following areas:

Please note that we do not hire therapists who own their own private practice or who simultaneously work for a different group practice.
